The Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP) Scope 2 Letter
Beyond Fossil Fuels is proud to sign onto this letter alongside 40 NGOs advocating for impactful changes to the world’s corporate emissions accounting rules: the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. Today, the largest companies on Earth are able to claim 100% clean electricity purchasing all while supporting the buildout of new gas to power their facilities and buying the cheapest renewable certificates nowhere near their operations.Requiring hourly, deliverable, and new clean power purchases (near, new, and now) to claim clean operations will bring needed integrity, greater impact, and overall cost savings for ratepayers.
