Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
But some communities in Europe have been unable to find a way to participate in the energy transition. Not for lack of will, but because local grid constraints are holding them back.
Local distribution grids – operated by distribution system operators (DSOs) – are the electricity highways that connect households and businesses to the benefits of affordable, clean energy. Yet, at present, distribution grids often delay, rather than enable, a fair and fast energy transition.
Across Europe, enthusiasm for the energy transition is high, but outdated regulations and limited grid capacity at the distribution level are slowing momentum.
These videos show why a governance overhaul and more regulatory reform is needed to unlock an energy system that benefits everyone.
