Loukia Goni

Loukia is an enthusiastic digital communications professional, seamlessly blending theoretical and technical expertise in communication and marketing with a keen interest in people-powered campaigning. She joined the Beyond Fossil Fuels campaign in November 2019. Before this, Loukia dedicated almost 8 years to Greenpeace Greece, initially working as a Web Design & Digital Mobilisation Specialist and later as a Digital Mobilisation Manager.

Her focus involved developing impactful digital engagement strategies. Loukia pursued her studies in Mass Media and Communication in Athens, and she holds an MSc in Design & Digital Media from the University of Edinburgh.

More than 80 leading civil society organisations, including Beyond Fossil Fuels, have issued a joint statement rejecting the use of carbon offsets to meet corporate climate targets. We call on accounting bodies like the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol to continue excluding offsets and stick to scientifically-sound methodologies for tracking corporate climate efforts.
