Nelly Papazova

Nelly joined the Beyond Fossil Fuels team as Fundraising Coordinator in March 2024. She is Bulgarian and brings over 15 years of experience in environmental issues and fundraising. Over the past 7 years, she worked for WWF Bulgaria, managing the grant fundraising team and project management team. Prior to that, she worked as a Policy Officer for Nature Conservation at the European Commission in Brussels, responsible for enforcing nature conservation legislation in Bulgaria and EU accession countries.

Nelly has extensive experience in grant development and management and has also evaluated proposals for various EU programs. She holds an MSc in Environmental Science and Policy from the Central European University and a BA in Mass Communications and Business Administration from the American University in Bulgaria. Nelly is passionate about fostering a future where people and nature coexist harmoniously.
